Some things...

I just really get to the place of not really caring about what anyone else says.
Other things just bother me a lot more over time. Well I really do care enough about some folks that when someone says something something inside of me gets really sad.
I know some folks who in the past have been a part of churches... Now they aren't and don't care to be and what bothers me about that is they are not connected to a local body of believers and have tangible needs that a body can help with.

I know how easily disenchanted with other people and Church that even I can get so I say this with great gentleness coming from my point of view. people can and do disappoint and hurt other people even in churches and people can get a wee bit burned out by being basically wrung out and overused because of the fact no one else is involved, and we all get manipulated into serving somewhere. We all have our private wounds and church is no different. some people including me have said in lesser language screw them. I work really hard at staying connected to a local body...
There are different arguments going around that talking about the Lord is the SAME as being in a church and growing. Simply not true... Although there are numerous scriptures that come to mind to support it,I don't have street addresses for them at the moment.
Some say you can have FELLOWSHIP at Starbucks, McDonalds... Well, I know of life groups that meet there but Churches these are NOT... Outreach spot YES.
We are in the process of getting into another Life group at the church we go to.
We believe it IS important to be connected and grow and have opportunities to fellowship and get to know people. That's where life happens and that's the type of environment we want to raise our kids in. Personal growth is my responsibility... but accountability and friendships help us grow more.
We mentioned that we were going to be attending a class so that we can do a public dedication of Daniel and they acted like we were so out of order for going to a class. Give me a class any day to let me know how this works so that we can schedule this public thing (we've already done this between Andrew and I). The class was great although it could have been a mere technicality , was a pretty awesome tool that this church can and does use to reach people to Christ.. We have no aversion to going to a class and learning new things. We really think the way these are done makes this even more special. We would like to add that we have both attended and/or had public and private church dedications and we felt this this format we were very comfortable with this.
It has been Scheduled.. and in another post in a couple of weeks I will post a date.

We have questions regarding some of the things involved which can sway us into having our public dedication be more of a private affair and more formal since there will be a renewal of our marriage vows as well.. We would love to keep it public. We will post back soon.
Andrew tells me I should write a book and those who know me well enough say the same. The jury is still out on this matter and is a matter of prayer.

St. Patrick's Day 2009

Oh my WORD...
Yesterday we had a very busy, busy day.
It was March 17th 2009, Saint Patty's day. It was also Jonathan's second day of school.
He loves school and we are happy he LOVES it.
I took the wagon and Daniel and I walked to school with a minor detour made. We stopped and chatted a little with Phyllis Stroud- The area director for the March of Dimes... We are crazy about her and she is crazy about our kids and all babies in general.
After Daniel and I walked over to school and picked Jonathan up and walked home. It was a good day. I finally was able to convince Jonathan he indeed needed a nap and we all took a nap.(YAY) He was in a great mood when he woke up and Andrew came home so I could go to an appointment I had and later met me with the kids at Jonathan's doctor for an appointment. The doctor checked Jonathan's ear and we asked questions about Jonathan's behavior. After getting some answers and finding out Jonathan's ear are fine again. We decided to take a chance and go to Saint Patty's Day on Main in Rock Hill. We walked around and all there was there was a lot of beer and not much else to do with the kids. There was one bouncy thing and about 500 kids on it and a huge line. NOPE, this was more of a booze street party than a holiday celebration and left after about 15 minutes because to me I really think drunk people are not that exciting.(entertaining, maybe but exciting NO)
We went and had dinner, and came home and went to bed.
As I lay in bed reflecting on the day I was feeling perplexed about someone I keep seeing back from our MorningStar days. I would just assume she still goes there but if not that's just ok but Twilight Zone creepy. I pray she's happy and doing well, but I just put the past behind us at MorningStar when we came to Forest Hill. No bitter feelings, no hurt or angry words for anyone. We just are in a different season, and felt like a change was needed with the challenges we were about to face.
I hope that the past doesn't continue to haunt me like this. That was just awkward.

Happy Birthday Jonathan

as posted on our website:
Today we say Happy Birthday to Jonathan.
It doesn't seem like it but 3 years ago we went in for an incredible day of life.
From the beginning Jonathan has been very loved and wanted. We are so lucky and blessed to have this special child in our lives.
Jonathan's life has been a roller coaster ride from the beginning and we are all the more proud of the way Jonathan has faced each of his challenges with determination and a stubborn spirit that gets the task done.
We love to look at our NICU pics of Jonathan and thank God for the miracles that happened with Jonathan and other babies in there; also just for the pure fact he's in our lives (even when he's throwing things and throwing a tantrum).

So I am linking in a couple of videos that get me HAPPY.
Happy Birthday Mr. J!!!
Choo Choo!!!
Love
Andrew and Trina (Daddy and momma) and Daniel too.
His Birthday Party has been rescheduled for the afternoon of the 21st due to a schedule conflict.

Enjoy your DAY Mr. J and we hope you LOVE your new SCHOOL.

Out with the Old...

Last Therapies...
Since Jonathan turns 3 this next Monday 3/16 and starts at a preschool on the same Day (God willing) We Had to say goodbye to some pretty special people.
The first one was Stacy and she worked with Jonathan with the Easter Seals as an early interventionist. We Loved her and as we got to know her she really is a great lady. She had her baby this last week. We will miss you Stacy. :)

The second one we said goodbye to was Janet a physical therapist. We saw someone over there every week for almost a year (minus a few weeks). Jonathan's face tells the story and sometimes he has a way of describing our emotional fatigue in his expressions. OK at least he doesn't hide them well.
This is Janet:

This one is Michelle. An Occupational therapist Jonathan saw maybe 5 times after firing his previous one for never communicating.
Michelle was very good and very nice.I liked her. I think Jonathan liked her too.

Lastly here is Ann Marie his speech therapist and owner of Tega Cay Speaks. We got her after his last speech therapist left after Christmas. Jonathan's Language began to really blossom after a couple of weeks with her and the homework we had was super!
She is due to have her baby at the end of March.

It took us quite some time to find some of these folks and I am quite glad to say that at least at Tega Cay Speaks they do great work there and if anyone has a child that needs help please take them there :) .

OK now I am truly choked up I will miss 3 of those folks but we will welcome new folks in next week.
Blessings

Turning 3 in another week

For those interested in our Birthday Plans for Mr. Jonathan who will be turning 3:
March 14th at 1pm(still trying to figure out a good time) This will be at our new place and if you need directions call or email us. (you know you need to talk to Andrew as you WILL get lost if I give the directions to you)
Although his Birthday is on the 16th(that is a Monday this year) He starts school and we really don't know what our schedule is going to look like until Friday.

He is getting into Thomas the Tank train(all I can think of is choo choo)
And Bob the Builder. That's all he's about especially trains lately...
We will be getting him an easel and paint and etc. He REALLY wants some wibble wobble crayons(crayola makes them)
We are in the process of saying goodbye to Jonathan's therapists as all his therapies will be through the school after he turns 3. Some of them we are sad and we will miss, but others we will not.
I will post pics next week of the therapists we will miss.
Please be praying for Jonathan's Early interventionist. She is due to have her little girl Madeline(sp?) due on March 12. She is eagerly waiting for this delivery as this is her rainbow baby(pregnancy after a loss). We really, Really LOVE Mrs. Stacy!
Prayers for a happy and safe delivery!
We found the screws to the crib and Daniel will be sharing a room with Jonathan.
That's all for me right now.
Blessings
