Day out With Thomas

This week end we went and Spent our Sunday at Day Out With Thomas. It was in Spencer(nearest town is Saulisbury,NC about an hour and 15 minutes from where we live)
For those who want pics I have them as well as video.
We mostly have pictures of Jonathan because well in Andrew's opinion we were there more or less for Jonathan. I had to convince him this was important for Daniel too. Let's just say mommy wasn't happy with daddy.
Anyways here they are.

Lemonade Redemption

OK Something very sweet happened last night as I lay in bed last night.
A lot of things have been bothering me lately and I am trying to deal with those things as best I can.
I was praying about that and this is what he brought back to my mind. It truly blessed me and tears were shed.
He took me back to the whole NICU experience. We were deathly afraid that Jonathan was not going to live. We had everyone from around the world praying. All we could do was watch and wait in the expectation of miracles.

Then he wanted to prove to me the He is continually redeeming us and our lives.
He then reminded me of when we returned to the NICU as a testimony of God's abundant grace. We were there in victory.Jonathan's story and our family's picture were chosen as a part of a 22 family project called Wall of Hope. To give hope to families there fighting with their kids.

He then reminded me that was on the same day we got a first glimpse of Daniel at 6 weeks.
At that point in time we were still in our early phases of our grief from losing Hannah to a miscarriage.
This was a beautiful day and it brought tears to me eyes then and it still does.
It was really strange to be in a room full of families that were once in the nicu donning yellow gowns fighting with their babies as they fought for their lives.
You should have seen how many of the parents were shedding tears as we were too as everyone told their stories.
Many of the doctors that helped him fight were there and they were all crying too.

Just remembering that took everything into a different view as if He was saying to me ;If I can redeem that hopeless situation, Just think about what I am going to do with that.
Just wanted to share that
Be blessed

Our week

OK We had a great day today.
We went to church, went to lunch, came home and got a nap.
Church was super. The series we are on is called "Hell-Yes".
Next Saturday me and the boys are going to Saturday service... Why Saturday...
Well Sunday we will be going to Day Out With Thomas.
Who is this for? Oh I don't know ;) A super 3 year old named Jonathan who is a train freak and has us chasing(almost literally) trains. This will be our I think 4th trip to Spencer in the last 3 months.
Whoever Skip W is on Youtube BLESS YOU. You have awesome videos.
Jonathan's favorite show (Other than Thomas and friends) is World's Toughest Fixes on National Geographic. You see I went to High School with the host Sean Riley and he was a blast. He fixes really huge things and has been just about anywhere. Andrew has been Joking that he needs to come to our house and fix the basement.
We think Jonathan's hero is Sean.
I will post pictures of this occasion and there will be video.
Until then Go in Peace

Healthy thoughts

I am sorry I haven't made an entry in several weeks. Although I did write I chose to not publish it. If there is a book in the future and there may or may not be a co author thing... That will probably be in the book. Some things I will not publish...

I am currently working through some very deep things, and although some things are more difficult than others... The only thing I can say about any of it is I know that there is a higher purpose to what we go through in life. What I wrote below is part of that.

I came across something and I will attempt to share it with you.
I have heard several speakers share this. Bitterness is like you drinking poison and expecting someone else to get sick.
I've learned that forgiveness takes time and is a willful act that must be carried out. Some wounds just go way too deep for forgiveness to be effective only doing once. It hurts, Yes. Sometimes, let's be honest I want to burn someone at the stake and light the match. The person hurt me deeply and I have had to deal with the aftermath of it. Every time something reminds me of this pain, I have to remind myself that I need to forgive.
Forgiveness doesn't absolve anyone from being responsible for what they did; it just unties you from them and what they did with the Lord. If someone breaks a law they still are subject to it although you have forgiven them it doesn't release them from it.
I mean this in the truest sense. I wish people well but ultimately some folks have justified their behavior and actions until what they did didn't seem to even involve themselves as being responsible. These people whether they know this or not will eventually wake up to what they have done, said or even their inaction.
Until then we all just wait.
Have you ever witnessed an injustice or even been a part of it on either side? you might know what I am talking about.

Hey I couldn't be doing better. This kids are feeling a lot better from their episodes of what ever virus of the week has been going around.
My advice to parents of little kids 0-5 PLEASE do us all a favor and if your kid has a runny nose period Please STAY HOME. I know we parents and especially us mommies that stay at home need our adult interactions... BUT at the expense of our kids comfort when they are sick? And Shame on anyone for spreading the viruses to the outside world...
Case in point... a couple of months ago Andrew and I volunteered in one of the toddler rooms at church. One of the kids had a green gooey runny nose. He was not feeling well. You cold tell he wasn't feeling well.He was going around the room like any little kid playing with toys and the other kids. Andrew said something along the lines of yea we are screwed we are going to all get it now.
We ended up not getting it... but we believe it was more grace that saved us that time.
Green isn't ever a great color when it's coming out of a nose. It's usually a sign of illness or infection. Our hearts broke for that kid and that kid's parents were paged. I tried to tell the mom you know your kid is sick... and she totally copped out and said he was swimming.
I don't believe you don't know that you are bringing your kid sick to a place where other kids are. You have several chances in your day before then to see it. diaper changes, clothing changes, feeding. Maybe behavior should have told you that he needs to stay home. GOSH even our church has the video sermon on their website, so it's not like you missed that. I think every one of us would understand if we didn't see you that one week.
OK enough for my rant but yup that is definitely a pet peeve of mine since we end up on the wrong end of that deal a lot and end up sick because of some idiotic insensitive parent. Insensitive because she must not care about any other human being around them getting sick off of them.
I hope you all are doing very well.
HUGS and love to all who need it.

August 31,2009-- Major triggers

Wow today is a toughie.
First of all I am happy for friends of mine who are celebrating their daughter's 2nd birthday. They went through a lot to get her and finalize her adoption.
Jeff and Jacqueline's Daughter, Samantha was born the very same day we lost our baby to a miscarriage.
We named that baby Hannah.
It was a tough week end. We had been praying along with them to see the fulfilment of what we were all wanting to see. This was a domestic adoption. They were at the birth of this baby and we were all praying that the birth mom would not back out of the adoption.

Two days earlier Andrew and I had an ultrasound and we saw a baby with a heart beat. Although it was tiny, all we could think of was at least we have a beating heart.
Although in our experience, that is a minor thing as we have seen the heartbeat of every baby that I have been pregnant with regardless of whether I miscarried or not.
The next day I began to spot. For me this was absolutely the scariest thing as I sat on the toilet. I was thinking OMG not again (although my previous miscarriage was missed and I never had bleeding I did spot).
I called the doctor and was told that spotting could be normal. In my opinion anything red and flowing is BAD
I was told that if I started cramping really bad and flowing to call back...
That night I started cramping and bleeding started that next morning.
needless to say I called them back only to get the run around. I finally called back and got a time. 1 pm. I was thinking great HOLY CRAP my husband is at work and can't come and take care of Jonathan. I fed him lunch (not thinking of possible surgery) he only ate at that point if I was eating too.
I took Jonathan in his stroller and asked if he would be patient with me.
I was asked to give a urine sample although I was bleeding heavily coffee colored blood.
They took me into the small ultrasound room (the same one where we discovered my first loss) I got onto the table and remember saying to the tech, please tell me if I lost this baby because my gut feeling is that I did.
They confirmed another dead baby still inside that hadn't yet make it's way out of me.
At this point I was in a horrific amount of pain and very tired. I asked the doctor the normal questions that would be asked in a situation like this. At this point my heart was broken. I called Andrew while waiting for the doctor in the exam room on my cell phone. he was going to be unable to do anything for me because he was the only middle management in the building as it was Friday before Labor Day week end. They wouldn't allow him to leave.
I called another friend of mine for emotional support and she helped me stay calm for Jonathan's sake.
I felt really bad for Jonathan, that he had to see his mommy that he loves in a lot of pain and sadness. I asked the doctor how long this could take and he said that it could be a while (as in days). I said is there anything else we can do I don't want to drag this out if the outcome is the same. He said how about surgery. I said ok, although I told him I had a couple bites for lunch.
He went off called the hospital, and I called Andrew and said they want me to go to the hospital NOW... he said he couldn't and I was like well call someone to watch Jonathan until you get there.
He called his mom. she came and took me and Jonathan to the hospital. I wish she would have just stayed at home with him because she went on and on about Diana (my sister-in-law) and about her own loss. She had an abortion. End of story. Her doc said that the birth control she was on was bad for the baby and she needed an abortion.
There is simply a limit to how much of that I can endure and this was too much for me.
I kept holding off the doctor as I wanted Andrew there. Finally the doc cut me off and I was semi ok and he took me to the OR.
I was given a spinal due to the fact that I had eaten several hours previous. This bent me a little out of shape and was more traumatizing than I ever had realized even though at one point I could feel what was going on. I was having a d&e to help complete the miscarriage. The baby had died due to lack of progesterone (hormone responsible for maintaining pregnancy in the first 12 weeks until the placenta takes over).
I was too overwhelmed and I just decided to close my eyes. I ended up going to sleep(maybe it was drug induced) I woke up as they finished and was moved to recovery. Andrew came in and loved on me... I told him again I was sorry. This was not supposed to happen when we were trying with clomid.
He took Jonathan and Andrew's mom home to my house. and came back to be with me.

We were sad that we lost this baby and due to mommy and daddy's intuition and dreams we knew this was a girl. we named her Hannah.
She died at around 7 weeks gestation and was deeply loved by her mommy and Daddy.
We were so lucky to have been at Forest Hill when this happened. We were treated with the deep care and respect our loss needed and deserved. I was guided through the initial stages of my grief by a counselor and she helped me not only grieve the loss of that sweet baby, but also our first loss of Samuel (lost Jan. 28, 2005). The counseling was very effective and only took a few visits. we just needed a boost.
At a certain point Andrew and I began praying about whether or not to try again. We would soon find out we had conceived naturally (without clomid) a mere one cycle after losing Hannah.
Without dishonoring this baby I would say that without her coming into our lives we would not be celebrating a month ago Daniel's first birthday.
Kind of bittersweet.
So Hannah , we love you and hope you are well in Heaven having a blast with all the other babies who got to come to heaven and be with Jesus and you. I hope you know that both Jonathan and Daniel love you too.
BIG BIG hugs and I know someday we'll see each other in Heaven.
Love Mommy and Daddy
